The Dam Wall Run AI Trend, Explained
Where the viral clip of a runner sprinting up a dam wall and backflipping off the top came from, whether it’s real, and how people put themselves in it.
Last updated: 2026-11-02
The dam wall run is an AI-generated stunt clip: a young man in a black tank top stands at the start line next to a security guard, sprints across a wet floor and straight up a huge, steep, curved concrete dam wall, backflips off the top by the railing, slides back down in a spray of water and celebrates at the camera while a crowd watches from the stands. The original was posted on Instagram on October 23, 2026, and people now remake it with their own face. On Wall Run AI you upload one photo and get the same scene with you, a friend who agreed, or your pet as the runner.
Where This Clip Came From
This version was posted on Instagram on October 23, 2026 by @jacksonzhangai ("Jackson Zhang", an AI-generated persona account) with the caption "Jackson can fly✈️". When we counted on November 2, 2026, the reel had about 3.08 million likes and 9,346 comments. The clip is about 15 seconds long and vertical.
It came out of a wider wave. AI-made "stunt running" videos, with people running up giant ramps and walls and sometimes flipping at the top, spread in late September and October 2026. On TikTok, @stuntversehq was posting AI wall runs from late September; one "Moscow wall run" had 2.2 million views by November 2, 2026.
Is the Dam Wall Run Real?
No. The dam wall run clip is AI-generated, and the put-yourself-in versions people post are AI videos too. Two weeks before this clip appeared, on October 9, 2026, the fact-check site Lead Stories published a warning that the wave of stunt-running videos going around was AI-generated; the earliest one it found was a Facebook video from September 28, 2026. Please don’t try it on a real dam or wall.
Dam Wall Run and Giant Ramp Climbing
From late October, people started posting the scene with their own face using one-photo templates, often called "giant ramp climbing". Two examples:
- A French post by @tei6707 on October 29, 2026 had 308.9K views by November 2.
- An English post by @tonyehahn72 on October 30, 2026 had 88.5K views; the runner wears a red devil costume.
A twist that shows up too is "then security tried it": after the run, the security guard does the same run and falls, as in this Instagram post by @scalefiction from October 29, 2026.
How the AI Version Works
What stays from the viral clip:
- the dam and the wet, curved concrete wall
- the crowd in the stands and the security guards
- the camera moves and the timing of the original take
- the clip’s own crowd and stadium sound
What comes from your photo:
- the runner: you, a friend who agreed, or your pet
- a pet keeps its own body, so a dog runs it as a dog
The video is made with the Wan 3.0 video model, which copies the original clip and swaps in the subject from your photo. The likeness is close but not guaranteed to be perfect. You get a vertical 9:16 MP4 in 720p with no watermark, in one of three lengths:
- 15 seconds (20 credits): the whole take, from the start line beside the security guard, the sprint across the wet floor and up the wall, the backflip off the top, the slide back down, to the celebration close to the camera.
- 10 seconds (13 credits): from the run up the wall: the backflip, the slide down and the celebration.
- 6 seconds (6 credits): the backflip off the top, the slide down and the start of the celebration.

Questions About the Trend
Who is Jackson Zhang?
"Jackson Zhang" is the AI-generated persona behind the Instagram account @jacksonzhangai, which posted the original dam wall run on October 23, 2026. The runner in that clip is AI-made, not a real athlete.
Is this site the official dam wall run app?
No. Wall Run AI is not affiliated with @jacksonzhangai / Jackson Zhang, Instagram, TikTok, Meta, ByteDance, Alibaba or the Wan team. It’s a tool for making your own version of the clip from one photo.
What song is in the dam wall run?
There isn’t a named song. The viral clip uses its own stadium and crowd sound, and that crowd sound is what your video comes with.
What does "giant ramp climbing" mean?
It’s the name of the one-photo template posts where people put their own face into the scene. It’s the same dam wall run idea.
Can my dog do the dam wall run?
Yes. The runner can be anyone or anything the photo shows, and dogs and cats run it on their own legs.
